ABOUT MASSAGE (Tactile Kinetic Stimulation)

Massage is an age old traditional treatment for a variety of conditions.Whilst we know that the term has been misused, we also remember that the healing power of touch has been recognised since the days of Hippocrates. Everyone should have an equal opportunity to enjoy the relaxation, pampering, healing experience.

"Medicine is the art of rubbing" said Hippocrates in 400BC. Long before there were drugs for every ache and pain, deep tissue massage was used to treat everything from a fever to sore backs. And the ancient Greek's advice hasn't been lost on Dr Tiffany Field, Director of the University of Miami's Touch Research Institute in USA. Massaage is being investigated as treatment for autism, low birth weight babies, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and other problems such as arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and premenstrual tension.

"We've been studying this for 20 years and are finding physiology relaxes, the heart rate goes down and stress hormones decrease" says Dr Field. She says thatt even patients with breast canceer have experienced positive results.
